Fitch rates China Life

Fitch Ratings said it assigned China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. an A+ international insurer financial strength rating.

The outlook is stable.

The rating reflects China Life's majority state ownership, flexible product liability profile, strong risk-based capitalization and well-established franchise and distribution capabilities, Fitch said.

These strengths are moderated by the challenging economic environment, which could continue to affect the company's investment performance in 2009, the agency said.
