Cherokee International sets record date for notice on debt restructuring

New York, Sept. 20 - Cherokee International LLC said it set Sept. 12 as the record date for those holders of its 10½% senior subordinated notes due 2009 entitled to notice of possible amendments to the indenture.

The Tustin, Calif. maker of switch-mode power supplies said it is considering restructuring alternatives for the notes.

At this point the company has not finalized a restructuring plan but said it is setting the record date to "ensure its flexibility in considering alternatives."

The alternatives may include amending some terms of the note indenture, which would require the solicitation of consents from holders.
