Fitch rates AEP Texas IDR BBB+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a long-term issuer default rating of BBB+ to AEP Texas Inc. and affirmed the senior unsecured rating at A-.

The outlook is stable.

AEP Texas is a subsidiary of American Electric Power (AEP; BBB/stable).

Concurrently, Fitch withdrew the ratings of predecessor subsidiaries AEP Texas Central Co. (TCC) and AEP Texas North Co. (TNC).

Effective Dec. 31, TCC and TNC ceased to exist as separate legal entities as a result of a merger into AEP Texas Inc. AEP Texas Inc. assumed the debt of TCC and TNC and will be the debt issuing and reporting entity going forward.
