Aegis Mortgage requests second three-month exclusivity extension

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., March 10 - Aegis Mortgage Corp. requested a 90-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend the exclusive plan-filing period to 90 days from March 10 and the solicitation period to 90 days from May 9.

In the motion requesting the extension, Aegis said it needs more time to propose a plan due to the complicated nature of the liquidation of the company's assets.

If granted, the exclusivity extension would be the company's second 90-day extension.

A hearing has been scheduled for April 14.

Aegis Mortgage, a Houston-based mortgage production franchise, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 13, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11119.
