Friendship Village of Schaumburg receives exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 28 – Evangelical Retirement Homes of Greater Chicago, Inc., which does business as Friendship Village of Schaumburg, received an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The exclusive plan filing period was extended through Dec. 6, and the exclusive solicitation period was extended through Feb. 5.

The company said it requested the 60-day extension to provide it with the opportunity to include disclosures relative to the events in its sale process that will occur in October and November, and to adjust certain provisions of its proposed Chapter 11 plan, as needed.

The Schaumburg, Ill.-based retirement community filed bankruptcy on June 9 under Chapter 11 case number 23-07541.
