Obstetric and Gynecologic Associates of Iowa makes Chapter 11 filing

Olympia, Wash., Nov. 3 – Obstetric and Gynecologic Associates of Iowa City filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa on Monday to implement a restructuring, according to court documents.

In its petition, the company listed $500,000 to $1 million in assets and $50 million to $100 million in liabilities.

The company’s largest unsecured claim is a $97.4 million judgment pending appeal claim that the debtor disputes. The individual holding the claim is represented by the James Law Firm, PC, based in Des Moines.

No other unsecured creditors were listed with claims of $1 million or more.

Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC is the company’s legal counsel, and Nyemaster Goode PC is co-counsel.

The obstetric and gynecologic clinic is based in Coralville, Iowa. The Chapter 11 case number is 22-01174.
