Ector County Energy ordered to mediate with Direct Energy, lenders

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 30 – Ector County Energy Center LLC will engage in mediation with Direct Energy Business Marketing, LLC and an informal group of prepetition secured lenders relating to a global settlement, according to an order filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Retired judge Christopher S. Sontchi will act as mediator.

Goldsmith, Tex.-based Ector owns and operates a 330 MW natural gas-fired electricity-generating facility. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 11 under case number 22-10320.
