Nordic Aviation asks for 60-day extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., March 30 – Nordic Aviation Capital A/S is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through June 17 and the solicitation period through Aug. 15.

As previously reported, the company has filed a Chapter 11 plan. The confirmation hearing is scheduled for April 19.

“Despite the debtors’ impending confirmation, work remains to be done to bring these Chapter 11 cases to a close,” the company said in its motion.

The company said extensive documentation is required to implement and consummate the various transactions underpinning the restructuring support agreement and the plan.

The negotiation and execution of the documentation requires the undivided attention of both the debtors and the applicable counterparty stakeholders, Nordic Aviation said.

The Billund, Denmark-based aircraft leasing company filed bankruptcy on Dec. 17 under Chapter 11 case number 21-33691.
