Former Hytera seeks exclusivity extension to continue discussions

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Aug. 12 – HCA West, Inc., formerly Hytera Communications America (West), Inc., is seeking another extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through Oct. 8 and the solicitation period through Dec. 8.

Hytera has filed a plan and disclosure statement already, as previously reported. Under the plan, the debtors are seeking to liquidate their assets and distribute the assets.

The company said that it is currently working with its official committee of unsecured creditors and Motorola regarding changes to the plan, which will provide a path for a consensual confirmation hearing.

A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2.

Hytera is an Irvine, Calif.-based communications company. The company filed bankruptcy on May 26, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-11507.
