Diocese of Norwich mediator says most issues have been resolved

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Dec. 16 – The mediator for Norwich Roman Catholic Diocesan Corp., known as the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich, the official committee of unsecured creditors, and other parties in interest said the parties have resolved most of their issues and are continuing to work toward a final resolution.

The mediator told the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut Thursday that he has had numerous conversions with the attorneys representing the parties and has conducted in person mediation sessions in New York.

He said the unresolved issues, at the point, will remain confidential.

The Norwich, Conn.-based diocese filed bankruptcy on July 15, 2021 under Chapter 11 case number 21-20687.
