Liberty Power seeks extension of exclusive periods to complete sale

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Aug. 19 – Liberty Power Holdings LLC is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through Nov. 16 from Aug. 18 and the solicitation period through Jan. 14, 2022 from Oct. 17.

The company said it needs the additional time to complete the sale of its assets.

“The debtors must devote all of their resources and attention in the next 90 days to consummate the sale of the assets before they can formulate the terms of a plan,” the company said.

The company said that once the sale is approved, then it will need more time to work on closing the sale, work on transitional items and then a wind-down.

Liberty Power is an electric retailer based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 20 under case number 21-13797.
