Nine Point seeks another 90-day extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 13 – Nine Point Energy Holdings, Inc. is seeking another 90-day extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through Jan. 10 from Oct. 12 and the solicitation period through March 14 from Dec. 13.

The company said that following the closing of the sale of its assets, Nine Point and its key constituents have worked to wind down the company’s operations and affairs and to resolve the Chapter 11 cases.

Nine Point said it is seeking the exclusivity extension out of an abundance of caution to preserve maximum flexibility in the wind-down of the estates.

A hearing is scheduled to Nov. 17.

The Denver-based exploration and production company filed bankruptcy on March 15, 2021 under Chapter 11 case number 21-10570.
