By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 20 – The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York has been ordered to mediation with its official committee of unsecured creditors and its insurers, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The court appointed Paul J. Van Osselaer to serve as mediator.

The debtor, committee and insurers were ordered to participate in the mediation in an effort to develop the primary terms of a Chapter 11 plan and address any other issues.

The Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based diocese filed bankruptcy on Oct. 1, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-12345.
