New Issue: Chile’s EFE prices $500 million 3.83% 40-year bonds

Chicago, Sept. 10 – Chile’s Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE) sold $500 million of 3.83% 40-year notes (A/A-), according to a press release.

Banco Santander and Scotiabank were bookrunners for the Rule 144A and Regulation S offering.

Proceeds will be used to continue financing the “Chile on Rails” plan that seeks to triple the number of passengers and double the cargo moved by 2027.

This is the second international placement by the issuer. The first international issue was carried out in August 2020.

The issuer is a Santiago-based transportation company.
