Comcar: Patriot unit not winning bidder for transportation business

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 6 – Comcar Industries, Inc. and its CCC Transportation, LLC subsidiary did not designate Patriot Transportation Holding, Inc. wholly owned subsidiary Florida Rock & Tank Lines, Inc. as the winning bidder for the assets related to the Comcar debtors’ transportation and logistics business, according to an 8-K filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission by Patriot.

As previously reported, the Comcar entities entered into a $4.08 million stalking horse purchase agreement with Florida Rock & Tank Lines.

Patriot said Florida Rock & Tank Lines is the standby bidder in case the proposed sale to the winning bidder does not close.

Auburndale, Fla.-based Comcar Industries, through its subsidiaries, provides truck transportation and logistics services in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy on May 16 under Chapter 11 case number 20-11120.
