NorthEast Gas asks court to extend exclusive plan periods by 90 days

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 19 – NorthEast Gas Generation, LLC is seeking a 90-day extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company is asking the court to extend the exclusive plan filing period through Jan. 14 and the exclusive solicitation period through March 15.

The debtors said the extension will provide for adequate time to complete their restructuring initiatives while the Chapter 11 cases are administered as efficiently as possible for the benefit of the debtors’ stakeholders and other parties-in-interest.

The Woodlands, Tex.-based NorthEast Gas owns and manages natural gas-fired electric generating facilities. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on June 18 under case number 20-11597.
