Maines Paper, committee look to reschedule plan hearing for Sept. 16

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 20 – Maines Paper & Food Service, Inc. and the official committee of unsecured creditors appointed for its Chapter 11 case is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to postpone the hearing on confirmation of the company’s plan of liquidation, according to a Thursday filing.

Specifically, the company and committee are asking the court to continue the hearing to Sept. 16 from Sept. 3.

“The official committee of unsecured creditors and the debtors are discussing certain issues related to the plan,” the filing said. “While these discussions are continuing, both the debtors and committee desire a modest extension of time to continue to work toward a consensual resolution of issues.”

Conklin, N.Y.-based Maines operates as an independent foodservice distributor in the United States. The company filed bankruptcy on June 10 under Chapter 11 case number 20-11502.
