Hytera receives shorter-than-requested exclusivity extension

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Aug. 2 – Hytera Communications America (West), Inc. received an extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Specifically, the court extended the plan filing period through Sept. 8 from Aug. 9 and the solicitation period through Nov. 8 from Oct. 8.

As previously reported, the company had initially asked to extend the plan filing period through Nov. 26 and the solicitation period through Jan. 26, 2022.

The company filed a Chapter 11 plan and related disclosure statement in mid-July, but said the exclusivity extension would allow it to continue discussions with creditors in order to make changes to the plan that will result in a successful confirmation hearing.

Hytera is an Irvine, Calif.-based communications company. The company filed bankruptcy on May 26, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-11507.
