Advanced Semiconductor prices $400 million convertible bonds

By Marisa Wong

Madison, Wis., Aug. 29 - Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. priced a $400 million offering of convertible bonds to investors outside Taiwan, according to a company press release.

Proceeds from the Regulation S offering will be used to procure raw materials from overseas.

The company announced in July plans to issue up to $400 million of convertible bonds to investors outside Taiwan.

Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., Credit Suisse (Hong Kong) Ltd., CIMB Bank (L) Ltd. and DBS Bank Ltd. were mandated as foreign distributing agents and KGI Securities Co. Ltd. as domestic agent.

The bonds were expected to price at par with a 0% coupon and a maturity of five years.

This is the company's third issue of unsecured convertible bonds, as previously noted.

The company provides semiconductor packaging and test services and is based in Kaoshiung, Taiwan.
