Mayflower Communities plan filing and solicitation periods extended

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 18 – Mayflower Communities, Inc. obtained an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Specifically, Mayflower’s exclusive filing period was extended through June 28 and the solicitation period through Aug. 27.

According to the motion filed in late May, the company intended to file a Chapter 11 plan soon after entering into a definitive agreement with a prospective stalking horse bidder.

Mayflower said the extension will give it additional time to continue negotiations.

Mayflower Communities, an Addison, Tex.-based provider of elder care and senior living facility services, filed bankruptcy on Jan. 30 under Chapter 11 case number 19-30283.
