Advanced Micro Devices plans to sell $500 million five-year notes

Portland, Ore., Feb. 20 - Advanced Micro Devices Inc. announced in a Thursday press release that it plans to offer $500 million of five-year senior notes via Rule 144A and Regulation S.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based semiconductor company plans to use the proceeds to repurchase up to $425 million of its 6% senior convertible notes due 2015 and up to $200 million of its 8 1/8% senior notes via tender offers.
