Fitch rates Investment Energy notes BB-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned first-time BB- long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings to Investment Energy Resources Ltd.

Fitch also said it assigned an expected BB- rating to Investment Energy's proposed senior unsecured notes.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect its strong business profile characterized by long-term dollar-denominated contracts and a modest cost structure, Fitch said.

The ratings are pressured by the company's exposure to the weak operating environments of Nicaragua and Honduras, the agency said.

The ratings also consider the company's broad geographic footprint throughout Central America and Costa Rica, Fitch said.
