Former Rockport requests exclusivity extension ahead of plan hearing

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 11 – Relay Shoe Co., LLC, formerly Rockport Co., LLC, requested an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Relay is asking the court to extend its exclusive plan-filing period by 90 days through March 11 and the solicitation period through May 13.

Relay said it has completed the solicitation of votes on the combined liquidating plan and disclosure statement it filed in October.

The deadline for parties to vote on the plan was Nov. 19, and the company said all classes entitled to vote accepted the plan.

The company said it is continuing to work with parties in interest to resolve all outstanding objections before the confirmation hearing scheduled for Dec. 19.

“The current exclusive filing period is set to expire on Dec. 10, 2018, which occurs approximately one week before the confirmation hearing,” the motion said.

“Although the debtors expect the combined plan and disclosure statement to be confirmed at the confirmation hearing and are working to address all outstanding objections to confirmation of the combined plan and disclosure statement, the debtors seek [an extension] out of an abundance of caution to address any unforeseen delays experienced in connection with confirmation.”

A hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.

Rockport, a West Newton, Mass.-based footwear company, filed bankruptcy on May 14, 2018. The Chapter 11 case number is 18-11145.
