Open Road Films seeks second exclusivity extension to negotiate plan

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 27 – Open Road Films, LLC is seeking a second extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Open Road is asking the court to extend its exclusive filing period by about three months through July 10 from April 4 and the solicitation period through Sept. 6 from June 5.

Having closed its asset sale and made significant progress on other case administration fronts, the company said it is now in the process of negotiating and preparing adequate information in connection with a Chapter 11 plan.

However, Open Road said it has not yet had enough time to complete that process.

A hearing is scheduled for April 30.

Open Road is a Los Angeles-based film operation. The company filed bankruptcy on Sept. 6, 2018 under Chapter 11 case number 18-12012.
