Open Road Films gets exclusivity extension following sale closing

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Jan. 24 – Open Road Films, LLC obtained an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The court extended the exclusive filing period by 90 days through April 4 and the solicitation period through June 5.

As previously reported, the company said it has thus far focused the vast majority of its time and efforts on its asset sale process.

“Now that the sale has closed, the debtors are turning their attention to the process of negotiating and preparing adequate information in connection with a Chapter 11 plan; however, the debtors have not yet had sufficient time to complete that process,” Open Road said in its motion to extend the filing period.

Open Road is a Los Angeles-based film operation. The company filed bankruptcy on Sept. 6, 2018 under Chapter 11 case number 18-12012.
