Solomon Partners enters industrial market, hires Larry Gelwix

Buffalo, N.Y., Oct. 17 – Solomon Partners, formerly known as PJ Solomon, announced it has signed Larry Gelwix as a partner to lead the development of the firm’s new industrial investment banking practice, according to a press release on Monday.

Specializing in the industrial, aerospace, defense and aviation services sectors, Gelwix brings more than 16 years of investment banking experience to the firm. He previously worked at Greenhill & Co. for 14 years where he served as a managing director and co-head of industrials. He has also worked at Lehman Brothers, focused on M&A and corporate finance transactions.

“We are seeking to recruit bankers that are recognized as experts in their fields to lead our advisory practices,” said Marc Cooper, chief executive officer of Solomon Partners. “Larry, with his in-depth industry expertise and experience, is well-respected in the Industrials field and uniquely suited to lead the development of Solomon’s new Industrials group.”
