Fitch rates Rothesay A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned Rothesay Life plc an A+ (strong) insurer financial strength rating and an A long-term issuer default rating.

The agency also assigned Rothesay Holdco UK Ltd., the group's ultimate holding company, an issuer default rating of A.

The outlooks are stable.

Fitch said the ratings reflect Rothesay's capitalization, profitability, investment risk and asset-liability management (ALM), all of which the agency assesses as very strong.

These are somewhat offset by the group's business profile, which Fitch assesses as only strong, and high financial leverage.
