Fitch revises Wizz Air view to stable

Fitch Ratings said it revised Wizz Air Holdings plc's outlook to stable from negative and affirmed the airline's long-term issuer default rating and senior unsecured rating at BBB-.

“The outlook revision reflects our expectation for easing travel restrictions in Europe, including in the U.K., to allow a continued solid recovery in Wizz Air's operations following a strong performance in the summer of 2021 in passenger numbers and load factor,” Fitch said in a press release.

Fitch said it noted solid vaccine coverage in many European countries should prevent a material decline in travel as widespread travel restrictions are now less likely.

“Given the rise of new virus variants, we expect recovery in the next few months would continue to be subject to setbacks, but be steadier and accelerate from summer 2022,” the agency said.
