Mississippi Minerals files Chapter 11 bankruptcy in western Arkansas

Pittsburgh, Nov. 17 – Mississippi Minerals, Inc. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Nov. 15 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

The company was formerly known as Reed Shriram Minerals, Inc. and Tiger American Minerals, Inc.

No information was filed as of Friday regarding the reasoning for or purpose of the Chapter 11 filing.

According to court documents, Mississippi Minerals has $100 million to $500 million in assets and $50 million to $100 million in debt.

The company did not list any unsecured creditors with claims of $1 million or more.

Mississippi Minerals is represented in its Chapter 11 case by Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC.

Hartford, Ark.-based Mississippi Minerals is producer of metallurgical grade coal. The Chapter 11 case number is 17-72861.
