Canada’s IA Clarington launches global and emerging market funds

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 2 – IA Clarington Investments Inc. launched the IA Clarington Emerging Markets Bond Fund, the IA Clarington Global Bond Fund and the IA Clarington Global Yield Opportunities Fund, according to a press release.

The company said the funds intend to offer the yield-enhancing potential of active, high-conviction exposure to a wide range of geographic regions and income-producing asset classes.

In addition, the company entered a new sub-advisory relationship with PineBridge Investments LLC. PineBridge manages the emerging markets bond fund and the global bond fund.

The emerging markets bond fund invests in the three main emerging market asset classes: hard currency sovereign bonds, local currency sovereign bonds and corporate bonds.

The global bond fund invests in up to 16 fixed-income asset classes using an unconstrained, global approach, the release said.

The global yield opportunities fund invests primarily in iA Clarington mutual funds, with broad diversification by geographic region and across a range of income-oriented asset classes. The fund is managed by Clément Gignac, chief economist of iA Financial Group and Tyler Mordy, president and chief investment officer of iA Clarington and sub-adviser of Forstrong Global Asset Management.

“Global and emerging market fixed-income offer investors a diverse range of opportunities that can help them overcome the challenges posed by the low-yield, rising interest rate environment at home,” Michael Kelly, managing director and global head of multi-asset at PineBridge, said in a news release.

Toronto-based IA Clarington is a subsidiary of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. The company markets investment products, including mutual funds, managed portfolio solutions and socially responsible investments.
