Fitch places Multibank, Multi Financial on positive watch

Fitch Ratings said it placed the ratings for Multi Financial Group’s Panama operations and Multibank Inc. on ratings watch positive.

The action follows the news that Banco de Bogata SA is acquiring Multi Financial’s Panamanian operations and reflects the possibility that if the transaction closes the two companies could be upgraded and equalized with Banco de Bogata’s ratings, Fitch said.
