Longford Capital Management announces Marc Carmel as director

By Tali Rackner

Minneapolis, June 12 – Longford Capital Management, LP announced that bankruptcy attorney Marc J. Carmel joined the firm as a director.

Carmel will lead Longford Capital’s involvement in the bankruptcy and restructuring sector, according to a press release.

“Controversies arising in the bankruptcy context and with distressed companies outside of court are particularly well-suited for third-party funding. Marc will help us identify opportunities to assist companies with pursuing meritorious legal claims while navigating the challenges of bankruptcy and restructuring,” William P. Farrell Jr., Longford co-founder, managing director and general counsel, said in the release.

Carmel joins from Kirkland & Ellis and Paul Hastings. He has practiced law for 17 years.

Longford Capital is a Chicago-based private investment company that provides capital to companies and leading law firms involved in large-scale, commercial legal disputes.
