Pampa Energia eyes Argentine peso five-year notes for week ahead

By Rebecca Melvin

New York, June 30 – Pampa Energia SA is expected to come to market with its peso-denominated five-year notes for up to $500 million equivalent during the July 3 week, according to a market source on Friday.

The Buenos Aires-based energy company took its note deal (provisional: B3/B/) on the road during the June 19 week to meet with European and U.S. investors and looks to have opted to wait until after the Fourth of July holiday in the United States to bring the issue to market late in the July 3 week.

As previously reported, the notes (provisional: B3/B/) will be denominated in Argentine pesos but payable in dollars at a specified foreign exchange rate.

Proceeds will be used to finance capital expenditures.

Bookrunners of the Rule 144A/Regulation S deal include Bank of America, Citigroup and Santander Bank.
