New Issue: Morgan Stanley prices $1.85 million contingent income autocallables linked to oil ETFs

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 28 – Morgan Stanley Finance LLC priced $1.85 million of contingent income autocallable securities due Sept. 30, 2019 linked to the VanEck Vectors Oil Services exchange-traded fund and the United States Oil Fund, LP, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Morgan Stanley.

If each ETF’s shares close at or above its downside threshold level, 50% of its initial share price, on a quarterly determination date, the notes will pay a contingent payment that quarter at an annualized rate of 8%.

Beginning one year after the settlement date, the notes will be called at par of $10 plus the contingent coupon if each ETF’s shares close at or above its initial share price on any quarterly determination date other than the final determination date.

If the final share price of each ETF is greater than or equal to its downside threshold level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the final contingent coupon. Otherwise, investors will lose 1% for every 1% that the final share price of the lesser-performing ETF is less than its initial share price.
