Our Alchemy to sell rights to ‘Fist of the North Star’ for $30,000

Pittsburgh, Sept. 24 – Our Alchemy, LLC requested court approval of the sale of the right, title and interest of its estates to the motion pictures titled “Fist of the North Star” and “Fist of the North Star II” to North Stars Pictures, Inc., according to a motion filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

North Stars Pictures has agreed to pay $30,000 for the rights to the two films.

According to the motion, Our Alchemy predecessor Overseas Filmgroup, Inc. entered into a distribution agreement with Ryuken Productions, Inc. in 1993 under which some of the intellectual property rights to the movies were assigned or conveyed to Overseas.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30.

Our Alchemy is an independent film distribution company. The company filed for bankruptcy on July 1, 2016 under Chapter 7 case number 16-11596.
