Viking Supply Ships: Norseman Offshore withdraws bankruptcy petition

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 16 – Viking Supply Ships A/S said Norseman Offshore AS has withdrawn the petition for bankruptcy filed against Viking with the Maritime and Commercial High Court in Copenhagen, according to a news release.

As previously reported, the petition was made on the basis of unpaid hire totaling $2.5 million. Norseman is the owner of the vessel Odin Viking, which is on a bareboat charter with Viking.

Viking said the two parties have been in discussions for several months regarding the overall financial restructuring of the group.

Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Viking is an offshore and icebreaking company in the Arctic and subarctic areas, as well as a provider of shipping services between the Baltic Sea and the continent.
