Michael Guy, Crestline's chief investment officer of Europe, will lead the London office.

"The opening of our London office extends our geographic capabilities and complements our U.S. Opportunistic and Credit efforts," chief executive officer Douglas Bratton said in the release.

"Crestline is committed to growing its Opportunistic Credit platform and establishing on-the-ground resources in locations that support our investor base and where we see attractive investment opportunities."

Previously, he was co-head of European loans and special situations at BofA Merrill Lynch, and before that held a similar role for Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette/Credit Suisse, managing its distressed and special situations business in Europe.

Guy is supported by Sanjeev Sarkar and Andrey Panna, both managing directors who co-founded the Tenax Credit Opportunities Fund alongside Guy.

Sarkar and Panna both have more than 15 years of experience in opportunistic credit investing, and the team completed more than 30 opportunistic commitments while at Tenax. They Panna will focus on sourcing and analyzing special situations and distressed debt.
