Swindon Borough Council plans £1.7 million debentures for solar farm

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 25 – Swindon Borough Council announced it will issue £1,655,855 of 20-year 6% debentures.

There is an additional early bird bonus of 0.5% on the amount invested for the first five years for those investing on or before April 11. The offer closes June 29.

According to the council, 82 investors have invested a total of £127,145.

Proceeds will be used in part to fund Swindon Common Farm Solar’s 4.8MW ground-mounted solar farm.

The council is investing £3 million in the project and is seeking to raise a total of £1.783 million.

Swindon Common Farm Solar is structured as a community interest company. It supports the council’s work while sharing profits with the community, according to a news release.

The borough of Swindon is located in Wiltshire, England.
