Prospect News reports 12 new defaults for week of July 30 to Aug. 5

Pittsburgh, Aug. 7 – Prospect News reported 12 new defaults for the week of July 30 through Aug. 5.

Specifically, Prospect News reported Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings made by Prysm, Inc.; Fieldwood Energy LLC; Matchbox Food Group LLC; Tailored Brands Inc.; Benevis Holding Corp.; Le Tote, Inc.; Noble Corp. plc; Mood Media Corp.; and Tonopah Solar Energy, LLC. There was also a Chapter 15 bankruptcy filing was made by Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd., a Tewoo Group Co., Ltd. reorganization proceeding and an EEW Eco Energy World Development Holdings One BV default.

In addition, Prospect News reported a missed interest payment on Chaparral Energy Inc.’s 8¾% senior notes due 2023. However, Chaparral had previously defaulted.

So far in 2020, Prospect News has reported 221 defaults, including 151 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings, 30 missed interest payments, eight Chapter 15 bankruptcy filings, six missed principal payments, five CCAA filings, four each of missed interest and principal payments and missed payments, three each of Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings and defaults, two administrations and one each of CBCA filings, CAA filings, restructurings, reorganizations and Danish Section 11b filings.

The nine companies that filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week listed a total of $11.548 billion of assets and $9.228 billion in debt.
