Adelphia Communications records $35.1 million September loss

Washington, Oct. 25 - Adelphia Communications Corp. recorded a $35.1 million loss in September on sales of $327.1 million, according to a monthly operating report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday.

Operating income for the month was $3.86 million.

For the 27 months ended Sept. 30, Adelphia posted a $1.28 billion loss on sales of $8.1 billion and an operating loss of $188.43 million.

Cash and cash equivalents on Sept. 30 were $236.89 million.

Adelphia, a Greenwood Village, Colo.-based cable television systems company, filed for bankruptcy on June 25, 2002. Its Chapter 11 case number is 02-41729.
