By Paul A. Harris

Portland, Ore., Jan. 26 – Hunt Cos., Inc. talked its $550 million offering of eight-year senior secured notes (B2/BB-) to yield 6 1/8% to 6¼%, according to a syndicate source.

Books close 11:30 a.m. ET on Friday, and the deal is set to price shortly thereafter.

Jefferies LLC is the left bookrunner for the Rule 144A and Regulation S for life offering. J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Hunt Financial Services are the joint bookrunners.

The notes come with three years of call protection.

The El Paso, Texas-based company plans to use the proceeds to refinance its 9 5/8% notes due 2021 and for general corporate purposes.

The prospective issuer is a privately held company that invests in businesses focused in the real estate and infrastructure markets.
