Haggen marks $4.7 million operating loss for Jan. 1 through Jan. 28

Pittsburgh, March 2 – Haggen Holdings LLC reported a $4.7 million loss from operations for the period of Jan. 1 through Jan. 28 on $51.16 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In comparison, Haggen posted $346,000 of income from operations for the period of Dec. 4 through Dec. 31 on $57.93 million in net sales.

Net income for the latest period was $42.99 million, increasing from $14.89 million of net income for the previous period.

In addition, the company had $22.91 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Jan. 28, down from $33.14 million at the end of December.

Haggen, a Bellingham, Wash.-based supermarket company, filed bankruptcy on Sept. 8. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-11874.
