Sumter, S.C., readies $51.85 million waterworks and sewer system bonds

New York, Aug. 17 – The City of Sumter, S.C., is set to price $51.85 million of series 2015 waterworks and sewer system improvement and refunding revenue bonds on Tuesday, according to a preliminary official statement.

The bonds (Aa3/AA-/) will be sold through Wells Fargo Securities LLC.

The bonds are due 2016 to 2035 with a term bond due in 2040.

Proceeds will be used to maintain, improve, replace and upgrade water and sewer system lines; replace and maintain meters; make a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition upgrade at a cost of about $400,000; and to refund the city’s series 2007 waterworks and sewer system bonds.
