Dresner Partners hires Horkay as managing director of equity research

New managing director will lead firm’s efforts in PIPE transactions

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 11 – Dresner Partners announced in a press release it has hired Steve Horkay as a managing director. Horkay will cover technology from the firm’s Irvine, Calif., office and lead efforts in private investments in public equity transactions.

Previously, he was a senior vice president at Wedbush Securities, where he led coverage of technology investment banking industries. His transactions encompassed mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of equity and debt, including PIPE transactions across a wide range of industries.

Horkay was also a senior banker in Banc of America Securities' Media & Telecommunications Group, where he completed numerous public equity, mergers and acquisitions, and leveraged finance transactions in the wireless, competitive local exchange carrier, broadcasting, cable TV and telecommunications services industries.

Horkay earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Michigan Business School in Ann Arbor, Mich. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

“We are excited about Steve joining our team,” president Steven M. Dresner said in a press release. “His extensive experience with PIPEs, as well as technology and telecommunications transactions of all types will expand our reach in California, as well as other parts of the country.”

The middle-market investment bank is based in Chicago.
