S&P rates WestRock notes BBB

S&P said it assigned its BBB issue-level rating to WestRock Co.'s proposed senior unsecured debt securities.

The company plans to split the benchmark-sized offering into seven-year and 10-year tranches and intends to use the proceeds from the issuance to help fund its acquisition of KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp.

All other ratings on WestRock remain.

S&P said it expects to conduct its review of WestRock and resolve the CreditWatch negative placement after the company completes its acquisition of KapStone.
