S&P revises Airbus outlook to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on Airbus Group SE to positive from stable.

At the same time, the agency affirmed all other ratings on the company, including its A long-term and A-1 short-term corporate credit ratings.

S&P said the outlook revision reflects the possibility that it may reassess Airbus' financial policy should it see a reduction in event risk related to potential large acquisitions or material share buyback programs.

The agency does not exclude the possibility that transactions may occur, but regards it as less likely that such financial policy decisions would weaken credit metrics over the next few years, compared with the forecasts. As a result, S&P may remove the notch of negative adjustment that has constrained the long-term rating based on its negative assessment of Airbus' financial policy.
