S&P rates Oman Electricity notes BBB+

Standard & Poor’s said it assigned a BBB+ long-term corporate credit rating to Oman Electricity Transmission Co. SAOC.

The agency also said it assigned a BBB+ rating to the debt issuance of special-purpose vehicle, Lamar Funding Ltd., which benefits from Oman Electricity Transmission’s guarantee.

The outlook is stable.

The rating on Oman Electricity is based on a BBB- assessment of its stand-alone credit profile, which reflects a view of the company’s strong business risk profile and significant financial risk profile, the agency said.

S&P also said it regards Oman Electricity as a government-related entity.
