Prospect News reports five new defaults for April 14-April 20 period

Olympia, Wash., April 22 – Prospect News reported five new defaults for the period of April 14 through April 20.

Specifically, Prospect News reported Chapter 11 filings made by GWG Holdings, Inc. and Northwest Senior Housing Corp. (Edgemere Dallas), missed interest payments on Alfa Bond Issuance plc’s (Alfa Bank JSC) 5.95% loan participation notes due 2030 and Mercury International Funding DAC’s 9.4% series 2 notes due 2030, and a default on E-House (China) Enterprise Holdings Ltd.’s 7 5/8% senior notes due April 18, 2022.

So far in 2022, Prospect News has reported 43 defaults, including 18 Chapter 11 filings, 12 missed interest payments, five missed interest and principal payments, four Chapter 15 filings, and one each of Chapter 7 filings, liquidations, defaults and bankruptcy filings.

The companies that filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy during the week listed at least $3.56 billion in assets and at least $2.17 billion in liabilities.
