AMG Managers Total Return Bond Fund gets new name, subadviser

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Feb. 17 – The board of trustees of AMG Funds I approved on Feb. 12 the appointment of Gannett Welsh & Kotler, LLC as the subadviser to the AMG Managers Total Return Bond Fund, replacing current subadviser Pacific Investment Management Co. LLC as of Feb. 25.

With the new subadviser comes a new name, the AMG GW&K Core Bond Fund, and a new portfolio manager, Mary F. Kane.

The fund seeks to generate income and capital appreciation while helping to manage risk. Under normal circumstances, it invests at least 80% of its net assets in bonds, including debt securities of public and private U.S. companies, the U.S. government and its agencies and state and local governments issuing taxable municipal securities. The fund primarily invests in investment-grade debt securities.

Providence, R.I.-based AMG Funds LLC is the investment manager to the fund.
