Onyx Renewable appoints De Boer as senior vice president of finance

Norfolk, Va., Dec. 18 – Onyx Renewable Partners announced the appointment of Daniel J. De Boer as senior vice president of finance, according to a press release.

Formerly with D.E. Shaw & Co.’s private equity group and D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments, De Boer brings nearly a decade of experience in corporate financing and renewable energy investment.

“The renewable energy sector is growing rapidly, but it needs access to low-cost capital if it is to become a meaningful part of the nation’s energy mix,” founder and CEO Matthew Rosenblum said in a news release.

“With our ability to draw on Blackstone’s deep capital pool, Onyx is positioned to make an immediate impact on the penetration of renewables in North America. Dan’s extensive experience in getting deals done will be invaluable to that effort. We are delighted to have him aboard.”

Onyx provides services for the development, finance, construction and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects.
